Please view the attached newsletter for a range of information about what is going on in the life of the church this week.
I’d particularly like to draw your attention to a few items:-
REMEMBER BRITISH SUMMER TIME STARTS THIS WEEKEND. DON’T FORGET TO PUT YOUR CLOCKS FORWARD AN HOUR. AS WE LOSE AN HOUR DON’T BE LATE FOR CHURCH!
Sunday 2nd April 12pm
Hunger Lunch for East Africa Famine Appeal
According to the UN, the world is facing its greatest humanitarian crisis since 1945. More than 20 million people are facing the threat of starvation and famine in Yemen, S Sudan, Somalia and Nigeria. The effects of conflict are far reaching. Harvests have been disrupted, food and fuel prices have risen, and the economy has collapsed. People are severely hungry: they are eating wild foods like water lily roots, and drinking unsafe water to survive. We will hold a fundraising ‘hunger lunch’ of soup and bread after church on 2nd April, inviting donations towards the famine appeal. We need a few offers of soup or bread. Please speak to Lily Koroma.
Easter Holiday Club
3rd – 7th April, 1.30-5pm
During the Easter holidays we have the opportunity to run a holiday programme for children and young people based in the West Kensington estate in partnership with the council. We're looking for a few extra volunteers who might want to help out. No experience is necessary. Even if you can only manage 1 afternoon you can still get involved. To sign up or for further information please talk to Penny S or contact her on 07791 340294.
… is an easy way to give to God’s work at St Andrew’s, at NO cost to yourself! Each time you plan to shop online, login first to www.easyfundraising.org.uk and type in St Andrew’s Church West Kensington as your chosen charity. Check if the retailer you want is listed (most shops are signed up to the scheme) and then shop away! The retailer will donate a percentage to your charity – and it costs you nothing! So go on, what’s stopping you???
SHOWER GEL, SPRAY DEODORANT, SHAMPOO
Wanted! To replenish supplies for the homeless project. Please place the above items in the homeless box by the front door.
Handyman / Handywoman
One of the (many!) ways in which we miss Fr Guy, is for his practical skills. From time to time small practical jobs need to be done around St Andrew’s which require a little more skill than the current team has! If you (or someone you know) could help, please let us know!
Don’t forget to click first on www.easyfundraising.org.uk. Register with ‘St Andrew’s Church – West Kensington’ as your chosen charity. Then click on the retailer you want to buy from (eg Argos, Amazon, Ebay and MANY more), so your purchase will earn a donation to St Andrew’s – at NO cost to yourself! So far we have raised nearly £150 but we could raise LOTS more!
