Please view the attached newsletter for a range of information about what is going on in the life of the church this week.
I’d particularly like to draw your attention to a few items:-
150th Anniversary Celebrations!
In 2018 St Andrew’s will celebrate 150 years since the first Christian ‘tin hut’ presence on this site! There’s much to thank God for – and much to excite and challenge us for the next 150 years!! Where might God be leading us? What new opportunities might open up to share God’s love?
Also, after 150 years of wear and tear some of our windows are not in a great shape, so we are in the process of planning windows repair – to ensure that the building is fit for purpose for the next 150 years! It would be great to tie these two opportunities together and plan a wide variety of events throughout next year. We’d love to hear YOUR ideas and thoughts – and especially we ask for your prayers that St Andrew’s will continue to be a place of welcome, hospitality and peace, living out God’s love in this community!
Trip to Rippingale Station
Saturday 19 th August
Coming soon… a summer trip to Rippingale (near Peterborough) – the new home of our Marc Maitland.
Marc lives in a former railway station, complete with railway engines, in a lovely village in Lincolnshire. Marc has arranged a coach, leaving St Andrew’s at 9am and returning approx. 7pm. Sign up sheet in café. Cost £15 including lunch at The Bull!
… is an easy way to give to God’s work at St Andrew’s, at NO cost to yourself! Each time you plan to shop online, login first to www.easyfundraising.org.uk and type in St Andrew’s Church West Kensington as your chosen charity. Check if the retailer you want is listed (most shops are signed up to the scheme) and then shop away! The retailer will donate a percentage to your charity – and it costs you nothing! So go on, what’s stopping you???
SHOWER GEL, SPRAY DEODORANT, SHAMPOO
Wanted! To replenish supplies for the homeless project. Please place the above items in the homeless box by the front door.
Handyman / Handywoman
One of the (many!) ways in which we miss Fr Guy, is for his practical skills. From time to time small practical jobs need to be done around St Andrew’s which require a little more skill than the current team has! If you (or someone you know) could help, please let us know!
Don’t forget to click first on www.easyfundraising.org.uk. Register with ‘St Andrew’s Church – West Kensington’ as your chosen charity. Then click on the retailer you want to buy from (eg Argos, Amazon, Ebay and MANY more), so your purchase will earn a donation to St Andrew’s – at NO cost to yourself! So far we have raised nearly £150 but we could raise LOTS more!
