Chelsea FC comes to St Andrew’s!
If being well was like baking a cake, good nutrition and exercise would be the two essential ingredients. As part of St Andrew’s ‘Be Well’ series, Chelsea FC will be running a free 30-minute movement class every month in Church, starting on Tuesday 23rd January. Sessions will be tailored to individual needs, including chair based exercises and the use of resistance bands. Don’t know what they are? Come along and find out! Everyone is welcome.
No booking is required, just turn up at 10:30 am in loose fitting clothing.
Future dates: Feb 27th, March 27th, April 24th, May 22nd and June 26th 2018.
Thursdays 7.30pm, in the vicarage
Lent Group – Meditation
Meeting in the vicarage for 6 weeks throughout Lent, we’ll be exploring some of the classic Spiritual Disciplines – practices that have been central to Christian life and growth throughout the centuries. This week Pia will lead us in a discussion and practice of meditation. Traditionally there are 12 disciplines (Meditation, Prayer, Fasting, Study, Simplicity, Solitude, Submission, Service, Confession, Worship, Guidance and Celebration) but we will look at 6 of them over the 6 weeks.
Perhaps they will challenge us to re-assess our fast-paced, busy lives, to find a way to go beyond superficiality into the deeper realms of our soul, and connect anew with God.
We’ll look at a different topic each week, both through the Sunday sermon and at the group the following Thursday. We’ll use the book Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster available 2nd hand book or Kindle on Amazon (and please remember to access Amazon by registering with www.easyfundraising.org.uk so St Andrew’s gets a cut!)

A group of St Andrew’s folk, neighbours and volunteers will be getting together in the coming weeks to plan a great big fun afternoon of summer activities, stalls and food in and around Church. Similar events will be happening nation-wide to bring a positive impact out of the death in June 2016 of Jo Cox MP. If you’d like to be part of the planning stage in the coming months, please speak to Revd Lesley.
Wednesday Helper wanted!
Our Wednesday Songs n Stories group for toddlers has become so popular that we are brimming full each week! This means it’s busy in the café, serving meals, washing up etc and we would be glad of an extra helper. If you could spare 2 hours on a Wednesday (11am-1pm) we would be VERY grateful! Please speak to Lemmy or Revd Lesley
