St Andrew’s Homeless Project provides a warm welcome and a home-cooked 3-course meal (as well as endless tea and snacks, shower facilities, fortnightly medical care) for between 40-80 homeless and vulnerable men and women. It is sponsored by HG Walters, City Harvest, Tesco, Fulham Prep School, Fulham Boys School – and a fantastic team of local volunteers. We are always glad of new volunteers (cooking, setting up and serving, clearing, washing up etc) from 10-12.30. If you’d like to know more, please speak to Adriaan, Lemmy, Barbara Routledge or Revd Lesley.
Confirmation in the Church of England is for those who have been baptised and who would like to ‘confirm’ the baptism promises they made or that were made on their behalf. It’s also a time when God, through the blessing of the Holy Spirit and the laying on of hands ‘confirms’ God’s love for the candidate. To prepare for confirmation we will run a series of weekly evening classes in Autumn to explore more deeply together what the Christian faith is all about.
Sometimes candidates who haven’t been baptised are baptised and confirmed, all in the same service.
If you’d like to know more, please contact Revd Lesley. Classes will be arranged to suit those who come forward. We hope to have a confirmation service early in 2019.
Wednesday Helper wanted!
Our Wednesday Songs n Stories group for toddlers has become so popular that we are brimming full each week! This means it’s busy in the café, serving meals, washing up etc and we would be glad of an extra helper. If you could spare 2 hours on a Wednesday (11am-1pm) we would be VERY grateful! Please speak to Lemmy or Revd Lesley
